The Board of Governors is the governing body of the University of South Carolina Alumni Association, a 501(c)(3) eleemosynary organization established in 1846 to promote fellowship among Carolina graduates and to mobilize them in support of their alma mater. The Board sets policy for and advises the staff of the organization and holds fiduciary responsibility for the assets of My Carolina.
The Board of Governors is comprised of one governor from each of South Carolina’s six Congressional Districts, four members at-large outside the state, and the following five officers: President, President-elect, Past-President, Secretary, Treasurer, Executive Director of My Carolina, Vice President for University Development and Alumni Relations and one person appointed by the President.
