Black Alumni Council

In 1979, a need was identified for increased African American participation in the Alumni Association. To this end, alumni in the greater Columbia area met and formed the Black Caucus of the Greater University of South Carolina Alumni Association. The Black Caucus name was eventually changed to the Black Alumni Council (BAC).

The organization continues to develop programs and activities to stimulate the participation of black graduates. The Black Alumni Council’s overall mission continues to guide its path.
