Legacy Scholarship

Deadline: April 1, 2018

Award Amount: $2,000 total, or $500 per year for four years

Eligibility Requirements: This award is exclusive to incoming freshmen—NO exceptions.
At least one parent, legal guardian or grandparent must be a graduate of a Carolina campus and a current My Carolina member. To be awarded the scholarship, applicants must have applied for admission to Carolina and have been accepted.

In-state applicants must present the following:
• At least 1180 on combined SAT math and critical reading sections (writing scores are not assessed); 1250 SAT (new, redesigned SAT, March 2016 test data and beyond)
• Weighted GPA of at least 3.0 from an official high-school transcript (as calculated by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions)
• Generally, an ACT score of at least 26 may be substituted for the SAT score

Out-of-state applicants must present the following:
• At least 1200 on combined SAT math and critical reading sections (writing scores are not assessed); 1270 SAT (new, redesigned SAT, March 2016 test data and beyond)
• Weighted GPA of at least 3.5 from an official high-school transcript (as calculated by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions)
• Generally, an ACT score of at least 27 may be substituted for the SAT score

Recipients may attend any Carolina campus

Additional Information: Awards are made on a first-come, first-served basis. Out-of-state recipients might receive reduced tuition. Scholarship renewal is automatic as long as the student maintains a 3.0 GPA and full-time student status and the sponsor's My Carolina membership is current.
