This is an exciting time for My Carolina. Having recently completed a comprehensive strategic plan, My Carolina is poised to continue and enhance its great work to keep alumni informed and engaged while also increasing its dues-paying membership base to further support the University.
Amy Stone, who assumed the position as interim executive director of My Carolina on July 1, 2011, was recently elected as the secretary of the University of South Carolina and its Board of Trustees. She is succeeding Tommy Stepp, who is retiring this month after 24 years in the position. Mrs. Stone stepped into her role as interim executive director at My Carolina following the departure of Executive Director Marsha Cole, who is now directing the Alumni Center project full time.
Stone is a graduate of Carolina with a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in education. From 2008-2010, she was an ex-officio member of USC’s Board of Trustees, a seat she held as president of My Carolina. She chaired the student-trustee liaison committee and also served on the ad hoc committee for development and the health affairs committee. She is also a member of My Carolina's Board of Governors.
Michelle Dodenhoff, vice president of development and alumni relations, will oversee My Carolina’s operations with assistance from Mrs. Stone until the executive director’s position is filled.
