Help Fund Cancer Research by Playing Kickball!

(C) 2012 Jeff Gordon, Inc.The premise is so simple, yet intriguing. Start planning your own kickball game, as casual as in your own backyard, at a family reunion or at a corporate retreat. Ask for participants and fans to visit Kick-It.org/jeffgordon to securely donate anywhere from a few dollars to a few hundred dollars on behalf of your game in support of the cause. Play the game and have fun doing it, knowing that it is all to benefit the kids who need it the most.

What Does It Take to Kick It?

“The best part about Kick-It is that it’s at the level at which you want your organized game to be,” says University of South Carolina alumna Jennifer Jones, '06, manager of Kick-It for the Jeff Gordon Children's Foundation. “It’s a grassroots, in-your-backyard, at-the-local-recreation-park kind of thing. Everybody loves kickball. There’s no skill set that you have to have. I play kickball, and I am by no means an athlete.”

What Is Kick-It?

Kick-It is a nonprofit organization that was established in 2009 by a 10-year-old cancer patient. Kick-It raises funds through “backyard” kickball games. Kick-It recently teamed up with Jeff Gordon's foundation to extend awareness of pediatric cancer and raise money for the cause while engaging supporters in an authentic, enjoyable and personal way.

How Can My Donation Be Doubled?

To honor National Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, Jeff Gordon will match dollar-for-dollar all money raised from games played in September on behalf of his foundation. Simply visit this link to set up your game. Be sure to check the box that mentions the foundation to ensure that your donations get doubled.

How Does Kick-It Relate to Gamecocks Giving Back?

One of our own alumni manages Kick-It for Jeff Gordon's foundation. Jeff has challenged his supporters to play at least 30 games nationwide in the month of September. We believe the Gamecock Nation can play an active role in helping Jeff with his program because kickball is easy and fun, the month of September is ideal for Gamecocks to flock together amidst the excitement of of football season, and the University of South Carolina believes strongly in instilling a philanthropic spirit in its students as well as its alumni and friends.

Start kicking it today!

What Happens Once My Game Is Set Up?

When you set up your game, please contact Kinsey Cooper at My Carolina to make her aware of the location of your event page on the Kick-It site. We will let the Carolina faithful know about your involvement in Gamecocks Giving Back to help support Jeff's foundation through Kick-It. Please feel free to send us pictures after the event so we can show others how much fun you had in support of an excellent cause!
