ABOUT THE ARTIST

Jim Harrison combines his love for the University of South Carolina and his passion for preserving the images of South Carolina in a special way. Jim is a loyal Gamecock fan and graduate of the class of 1958, having earned a dual major in art and physical education from Carolina. Along with his classmates, he will celebrate his 50-year relationship with the University of South Carolina this spring. He is the nation's undisputed leader in rural Americana art, and many of his prints have appreciated up to 3,000 percent of their original value. His success is evidenced by more than 35 years as a full-time artist.

ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Through a partnership with the Carolina Alumni Association, Jim has made available for a limited time an exciting new image titled "Palmetto Trees." With his brush, Jim captures on canvas one of the most beloved symbols of our state. The image is available as a limited-edition giclee in an edition of 50 or as a limited-edition print in an edition of 950. Proceeds from this partnership will benefit the highly anticipated University of South Carolina Alumni Center.

Giclee: The stretched canvas is framed without glass and, with proper care, the works are expected to last indefinitely. The giclees are signed and numbered by Jim Harrison. Dimensions are 51.5" x 38." Giclees are priced at $3,500 apiece. Carolina Alumni Association members receive an additional limited-edition print for purchasing the giclee.

Print: Specific quantities of prints are delicately reproduced from an original painting. Each print, signed by the artist, is a high-quality reproduction of the artist's original and is numbered with its own number as well as the total number of prints in the edition. Dimensions are 32" x 23.5." Originally priced at $250 apiece. Carolina Alumni Association member price is $199.
